You Think You’re So Tough?

You Think You’re So Tough?

This year you and I are going to face some major trials that we never saw coming.  When it hits the fan remember this: If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small. (Proverbs 24:10)

That’s not exactly the pick-me-up verse of the day, but I always go back to it for this reason:

You never know how tough you really are until you get put to the test.

If you faint when the going gets tough then you know you need to get tougher.  The only other option is to throw your hands up and quit.  That’s not really an option in my book.  Get tougher by depending on God’s strength instead.

So brace yourself – along with all the good times this year you are going to face some tough ones.  But take courage because God is working on the big picture.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,  because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.  Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything(James 1:2-4)
