Just Enough Jesus to Make Me Miserable

Just Enough Jesus to Make Me Miserable

I’ve never understood folks who are content to go to church on Sunday and live during the week with a loose moral code based on a few things they’ve heard preached from the Good Book.  It seems like Christianity would be more of an annoyance than anything else if you lived that way.

The rewards from this Deal come from selling out to the whole package.  It comes from giving ’til it hurts.  From taking gut-wrenching risks for God’s glory.  From surrendering your right to defend yourself and leaving it to God.

If you aren’t totally committed to that kind of a life then Christianity is just a barricade to living the life you really want.

Separating what you do Sunday from the rest of your life will get you nowhere but Frustrationville.  My parents taught me that living your life for Jesus only brings benefits if you buy into the whole deal.

Maybe that’s why so many people aren’t full of joy in their Christian walk.  They are living just enough of the Christian life to make themselves miserable.  Abundant life comes from getting yourself fully on-board the train.  Hanging off the side will only get you scraped up and dusty.

If you aren’t convinced give me a call.  I can spend an entire week talking non-stop about all the awesome stuff I’ve seen God do in my life as I’ve done my best to be totally committed to Him.

Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.  1 Cor. 2:9
