Going to War For Friends

Going to War For Friends

I’m convinced that whenever something bad happens to you God gives a special amount of strength and grace to deal with it.

I’m also convinced that God uses everything that comes our way to bring us joy and him glory.

One of the most difficult things for me is when someone hurts a person I care about. I get angry, clench my fists, and want to go to war. But I have to remind myself that the offense wasn’t against me and I don’t have the grace to deal with it. God wants to do something special in the life of the person who was hurt.

It’s really dangerous for me to take up their offense. I don’t have the grace God gave them for the situation, so I’m not strong enough to handle it. I love, pray and care for them and make sure I keep my heart pure – that’s the best way for me to fight for my friends.

Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2

P.S. I do believe we need to stand up for the weak, but we have to be very careful about guarding our heart against bitterness when it comes to fighting injustice.
