My Dad’s Little Project

My Dad’s Little Project

Last week I went to visit the U.S. offices of a mission organization my dad started about fifteen years ago. I’ve been thinking about that visit all week. It blows my mind how much my dad’s little project has grown. It started with our family and a brave missionary in Mexico who came on board. Now they’ve got tons of volunteers, staff and missionaries all over the world.

I started thinking about a little project I’m working on. I get discouraged sometimes because it seems so small and insignificant. Who knows, it may stay that way for its entire life’s span. But I’m certain my dad never saw his little venture turning into what it is today.

It reminded me of the verse that says, “don’t despise the day of small beginnings.” (Zech.4:10)

I’m sure God called me to do what I am working on now. How it will look fifteen years from now – I have not a clue. But I do know this: All I am called to do is put my heart and soul into the project he has given me to work on. If God decides to bless it things could get really big. The world is full of possibilities!
