Remember He-Man?

Remember He-Man?

I got this He-Man coloring book when I was a kid. I was pretty excited.

Dad invited me to go on a walk with him that same day. On the walk he shared some concerns he had about the dark side of that cartoon. He explained that as Christians it was important to watch what we were putting into our minds. Then he left the decision to me how I wanted to handle that coloring book.

I guess some people would say my dad was being paranoid. Others might say he shouldn’t have left me the choice – I was just a kid. Well, I ended up throwing away the coloring book.

I thought about that last night while I was watching something on TV. I turned off the program realizing I shouldn’t be watching this. Yes, I’m a mature adult now and I can “handle it”. But still….

There just some crap you shouldn’t allow to float around in your brain.

I think we all need a reminder of that from time to time.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8
