Send My Corpse to Cochabamba

Send My Corpse to Cochabamba

I overheard a bizarre story yesterday. A family is suing an airline because their dead family member who was supposed to be shipped to a funeral in Chicago was actually sent to South America.

I realized that based on statistics, that guy probably traveled more after he was dead than he did alive. Maybe he got out, but tragically, most people don’t.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree. I’ve read hundreds of books. But nothing has taught me as much as travel. In fact, I’m convinced that if you aren’t traveling you aren’t really living.

“I can’t afford to travel.” You say.

“Au contraire.” I say.

It’s about priorities. That 32” TV in the living room cost you as much as a ticket to Guatemala. Oh, you have a 72” TV! Gosh, you could have gone to Africa. That one trip alone would have a greater impact on your life than 3000 episodes of The Voice.

Just sayin’.

I’m convinced you and I need to travel. God made a big world with lots of people he loves in it. We need to get out and meet those folks. We’ll all be the better for it.

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.”Mark Twain

P.S. You can travel for cheap. Contact me if you want to know how.
