The Place You Didn’t Know Existed

The Place You Didn’t Know Existed

I don’t know what I don’t know. What’s scary is – I have to make decisions based on what I know.

So I hedge my bets and play it safe,  just in case God doesn’t come through.

Then one of my favorite verses pops into my head:

But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day. (Pr. 4:18)

What am I supposed to do with that promise?  Life is hitting me with a full frontal assault. The road ahead is clearly not filled with light. It looks like a storm is rolling in. It’s scary.

And then it happens – every time. I weather the storm and come out on the other side. I look around and the terrain has changed. The grass is a bit greener. The sun a bit brighter. The trail a bit smoother. I didn’t know places like this existed.

I look back at the goofy stuff I did trying to protect myself before the storm hit and think Man, I was so small minded. I remember that I simply don’t know what I don’t know. But God does. He wants to take me to a place I didn’t even know existed.

So we do not lose heart…For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.  2 Cor. 4:16-18
