Slaying the Dragon and Living by the Sea

Slaying the Dragon and Living by the Sea

“We paid off $127,482.30 of debt in four years.”

My eyes widened. “That’s a lot of money. How on earth did you do that?”

For the next thirty minutes my new friend Cherie shared dozens of practical things she and her husband used to slay the debt dragon.

As I listened to her I noticed one consistent theme in every tip she gave:

“Don’t go to the store until you make a list of everything you have in your refrigerator.”

“Make a meal plan for the whole week based on ingredients you already have.”

I’m convinced that being intentional is the recipe for living an extraordinary life too.

It doesn’t happen by accident.

Everybody gets somewhere in life, some people get there on purpose.

The life you and I want won’t just happen. We have to make intentional decisions that get us there. It’s often not convenient.

But even a little intentionality will go a long way.

Get intentional about facing the fire-breathing dragon in your life. Then don’t be surprised if that giant one day goes “puff” and is gone, and maybe you’ll even get to live by the sea. (That was a song reference for those of you born after 1980.)
