And You’re Gonna Hear Me Roar

And You’re Gonna Hear Me Roar

I saw a bunch of lions in Africa. Our Land Cruiser pulled up next to a group of them. They looked so cute and cuddly. Some were lying on their back with their bellies in the air. I wanted to go up and pet them.

But then we saw a buffalo they had just taken down.

It reminded me of something my dad used to always tell me.

“Always go in like a cat, you can turn into a lion later if you need to.”

There have been so many times when I thought I knew all the facts in a situation. I went in like a lion and started tearing people apart. Then later I learned all the facts and realized I had been a total jerk.

My nature is to immediately start in attack mode. I’m constantly reminded that it’s best to go into situations that seem black and white cautiously. I may not know all the facts.

There are times you need to roar, but I’ve found most of the time a gentle approach will do the job.

Fools give full vent to their rage, but the wise bring calm in the end. Pr. 29:11
