Surrounded by Ugly Women

Surrounded by Ugly Women

A friend of mine got arrested last month. He was involved in some illegal activity with children. It made me sick to hear. It sucks to see the righteous deceived by things that won’t satisfy. Lots of people get hurt.

This guy inspired me to write. He was an amazing Bible teacher and had some incredible insight.

Seeing his mug shot in the newspaper was sad.

It made me think of high school and how my parents would seem to freak out about people I was hanging around with or things I was watching. I always thought they went overboard. But the older I get the more I see why.

All of life is connected. Every decision puts you on a path that leads somewhere.

No one wakes up one day and says, “I’m going to be a criminal today.” It starts with small compromises. My friend made a series of bad decisions that led him down a path. What started in his mind led to prison. Step by step.

If you want to live an extraordinary life I am convinced you have to freak out about some stuff. It may seem paranoid or overboard.

You may need to take extreme measures. Cut your internet. Delete someone on Facebook. Surround yourself with only ugly women at work. Get rid of your TV. End a relationship that makes your heart flutter, but you know is not healthy.

We humans are prone to self-destruction. But there is abundant life to be had in Christ if we will take extreme measures to guard that life.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10
