When The Beautiful Things Come Out to Play

When The Beautiful Things Come Out to Play

Last year after the first freeze everything died in my yard. But I noticed some green shoots popping up around our house. Several weeks later those shoots exploded into amazing white narcissus flowers. I had no idea they were there. But they came up.

Those shoots are back this year. I’m kind of excited to see the flowers they are going to produce.

I don’t like winter. But I think it’s fascinating that those flowers only come out after it gets brutally cold.

It got me thinking about how there is a blessing and a burden for every season of life. Even when it’s coldest and most overcast there is something beautiful you can find. You just have to look for it. It may start out as a small shoot of greenery, but if you’ll care for and nurture what’s coming up you’ll find beauty exploding around you – even in the hardest seasons of life.

Stay focused on the beautiful things, even when it’s cold and dreary. You might just find there are some wonderful things around you.

He has made everything beautiful in its time. Ecc. 3:11
