What We Can All Learn From Donald Trump

What We Can All Learn From Donald Trump

I watched the Republican debate the other night. The only reason it interested me was because I’ve heard so much rumble about Donald Trump. It seemed like he might actually make the debate worth watching.

I’m still not sure how I feel about the guy. He definitely keeps things lively. But I do think there is one thing we could all learn from him. Do your best to look past his outlandish comments and harsh tone and you’ll see something pretty potent. It’s something that holds me back every day, but for whatever reason, doesn’t seem to hold Trump back. And honestly, I kind of admire that.

Donald Trump is not afraid of what people think of him.

Sure, you could write it off to arrogance or narcissism, but when I’m honest I have to admit I wish I had a little more of that in me. I’m terrified of people’s opinions. I always want people to like me. I avoid confrontation at all costs. I’m super careful about what I post on Facebook. I’d like to believe some of that is wisdom. But I know myself and know most of it is driven by fear of what people will think of me.

Trump isn’t afraid of what people think. And I think most of us could use a little more of that in our lives.

Can you imagine what it would be like if you didn’t care what people thought of you? What would you be doing differently? Would you pursue that dream or idea you have?

Be wise, some fear is healthy. But never forget, The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe. Pr. 29:25

Don’t be hindered by fear of what people will think. Do what you feel called to do. Be bold. Be courageous.
